The "National Design Triennial" is an ongoing exhibition program at Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum. Inaugurated in 2000, the program seeks out and presents the most innovative American designs in a variety of fields, including product design, architecture, furniture, film, graphics, new technologies, animation, science, medicine and fashion. Among the 87 designers and firms selected for the 2006 "National Design Triennial" is Joshua Davis, who's work will on display from now till August 26, 2007.

Katrin Eismann
Instructor: Photoshop, Introduction to Imaging: Tools & Techniques
The NAPP, or National Association of Photoshop Professionals, recently announced the inclusion of Katrin Eismann in its list of 2005 inductees to the Photoshop Hall of Fame. Katrin will share the stage with other prominent and renowned figures from the world of digital imaging and Photoshop, in a special ceremony at Photoshop World Boston.
The Photoshop Hall of Fame, formed by NAPP and sponsored this year by iStockphoto.com, honors and recognizes those individuals whose contributions to the business, education, development and art of Adobe Photoshop have enduring value.

Katrin has also just announced the release of "Photoshop Masking & Compositing" - a 540 page, full color book on the art of making selections and working with layers and masks to create effective composites.
Similar in tone and layout to Eismann's earlier published work, "Photoshop Restoration & Retouching", the new book includes the images and insights of many talented contributors. Eismann acknowledges support from Mark Beckelman, Wayne Palmer, Beth Millet, Jill Mars Ludwig, as well as Peachpit Press.

With the Experimental Television Center acting as Sponsor, Jeffrey Lerer has received an Individual Artists, Film & Media/New Technology Production Grant from New York State Council on the Arts for his project Manuscript Fragments Found at the Gilbert Hotel (Fragments j-l ). Fragments g-i will be completed in September. Preproduction on Fragments j-l is complete and production will begin in October.
The current release of the Manuscript Fragments Found at The Gilbert Hotel, Fragments g-i (work-in-progress), received a Finishing Funds 2004 Award from the Experimental Television Center. The Experimental Television Center Finishing Funds Program is funded by The New Media and Film Program of New York State Council on the Arts.
Jeffrey has also been awarded the following grants: the New York Foundation for the Arts in the 2003 Artists' Fellowship category ofComputer Arts, 2001 New York State Council on the Arts, Media Production Grant, Individual Artists Program, Experimental Television Center acting as sponsor.
Joshua Davis

In late 2003, Joshua Davis participated in a series of lectures and forums in Beijing China, curated by the Olympic Committee to open discussions on international web design issues. Topics ranged from web applications, content architecture, web management and promotion. The Olympic Committee gathered internationally recognized speakers (designers, technologists, architects, and thinkers) to provide thoughts, views, ideas, strengths, and solutions which will be compiled into a comprehensive proposal, making the Beijing 2008 Olympic Website a success. Joshua and his partner Branden Hall will represent Joshua Davis Studios, offering their expertise in the category of New Media Applications using the popular interactive web based technology "Flash MX 2004".
In early 2003, Joshua Davis was the subject of a major retrospective at the Institute of Contemporary Art in London. Coming to prominence in 1998 with web based projects such as dreamless.org, praystation.com, and Once Upon a Forest, Davis has been one of those creatives who actually shaped the look of the internet and also how we navigate through websites.
Joshua won the 2001 Prix Ars Electronica Golden Nica in the Net Excellence category, and was honored by the IPPA as one of the Ten Most Creative People in Web Design.

Tony served not only as the Producer, but also as Creative Director and Graphic Designer for "Women Combat Pilots: The Right Stuff", which aired in 2003 on the History Channel. The program allowed viewers a glimpse into the important role these courageous fighter pilots perform in today's world.

Trilby recently chaired the animation jury for the 39th annual New York Expo of Short Film & Video. Other jury members included SVA faculty Arnie Levin, Myles Tanaka, and also SVA alumna Biljana Labovic. She also inaugurated the highly successful WORK ZONE series at SVA in conjunction with NYC ACM SIGGRAPH; this monthly showcase features New York digital artists and animators presenting new work and work-in-progress.

Instructor, Foundations of Visual Computing
Don created 2D animated tale, The Fabulous Nutcracker, with former SVA instructor John Goodwin. The short was screened at various film festivals in 2003, including the New York Gay and Lesbian Festival. Additionally, Don has recently had graphic work published in PROOF magazine, and artwork selected for exhibition at the Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology.
Benjamin Bobkoff
Instructor: Foundations, Digital Design Basics Not only is Ben an artist and an instructor, he is also an award-winning competitive figure skater. In 2002, Ben won First Place at the National Figure Skating Competition in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He also won a Silver Medal in the Artistic category.

Instructor for Design in New Media
Start up Web development firm LiveArea (www.LiveArea.com), founded by Peter Comitini, was counted among the winners in Communication Arts magazine’s 1999 Interactive Design Annual for its web site design for OXO International at www.OXO.com. It was one of 46 projects chosen from over 1700 entries.
