Dave Eppley, one of our front office managers, recently completed his commission for Fidelity Investments. The piece was 30 feet by 6 feet and covered by quarter inch tape in six different colors. The piece will remain in Rhode Island and relocated to Fidelity’s NYC Headquarters across from ground zero. Dave has applications out to The Sculpture Center, The Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, and The city of Mesquite Texas.

Jerome Thelia, our DV Systems Administrator, is wrapping up freelance work on three summer projects. Jerome is the Editor/Compositor on "Untitled Derek Hughes Project", a short film directed by David Doyle for LA's Midwest Girls Productions, and he is Co-director/Compositor on "Thursday"*, a short film sponsored by the Horny Toad clothing company in California (*currently playing in the Mountain Film Festival). Jerome is currently in post-production as Effects Supervisor/3d Artist on Latin Grammy nominated Plastilina Mosh's latest music video for a song called "Los Oxidados".

 

Rock star Christina Mazzalupo (a.k.a.) Front Office Manager, will be performing all around New York City this fall at venues such as Sin-e and The Virgin Megastore with her band Triple Creme.

Christina will be having a solo exhibition of drawings at Mixed Greens Gallery in December, 2004 and another solo exhibition of drawings and collages in January 2005 at the ONI Gallery in Boston.

 

Matthew Hawkins, one of our Office Managers, recently judged a video game creation contest at Stony Brook University. All games were created by students as part of a programming course at the college and it was its professor who had personally invited Matt, along with other industry professionals, including representatives from Atari and Microsoft, to help choose which game was strongest.

Also, a few weeks prior and at the same location, was I-CON, the Northeast's largest science fiction and fantasy convention. Matt appeared as a featured speaker for the video gaming program, Matt discused numerous topics, such as his experiences as a game designer for both a major publisher and for his own company, the emergence of new gaming trends and platforms, in particular the new wave of mobile devices, and the ins and outs of video game journalism.

Kate Schaffer, our Director of Operations, recently performed (along with former D.O.P. Sherry Mayo!) and screened their Matrix Maintenance Officers (MMO) project at the Art in Motion Festival, sponsored by the University of Southern California.

The MMOs also performed live in NY at the MACY Gallery, Teachers College, Columbia University on 4/4/03.  At this public intervention, the MMOs conducted aweb cast live and projecedt their DV-stream.

Front Office Manager Mark Rentschler was recently in the Philippines negotiating new environmental policies for the White House. Mark has a Ph.D. in Geology and worked for the government on environmental protection policies. He has been called back as a needed expert in the Philippines. He has since returned to his life as a NYC artist.
